Top Cat Theatre Company was formed in 1995 as a group of Christians in Portsmouth, Hampshire, interested in performing high-quality drama. We’ve become known for the quality of our full-length plays and our innovative sketches. Although based at St Jude's Church in Southsea, the group includes members from churches across the city.

Our full-length productions have all been sell-outs. They include:

• ·a children's Christmas pantomime entitled Angel At Large
• the thought-provoking drama about a multiple sclerosis sufferer, Promise
• a futuristic children's sci-fi show, The Adventures of the J Team
• CS Lewis' classic text The Screwtape Letters
• ·a thought-provoking piece examining what might happen if a congregation member revealed a dark secret - Unforgivable Sin
• Walkout! - an adaptation of the classic text Pilgrim’s Progress.
• ·a family comedy based on the Nativity story entitled Scrub That Manger!
• ·Exile, a piece devised with the help of asylum seekers that imagines what might happen if roles were reversed
• ·an adaptation of the Philip Yancey best-selling book What’s So Amazing About Grace?
• ·a family Christmas show about the three wise men called Melchior’s Magical Mystery Quest

• ·the millennium eve service on the steps of the Guildhall, Portsmouth;
• ·the Family Fun Day including Diocesan Eucharist to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Diocese of Portsmouth;
• ·a passion play in Commercial Road organised by Churches Together in Central Portsmouth.

Members of Top Cat Theatre Company are available to perform sketches or plays in your church service, Christian event, youth club or shopping centre. They can also lead workshops to help you perform in the same venues yourself!

Although the group is non-professional, a donation towards our future work and some help with expenses is appreciated. New members are also welcome to join.
