by Murray Watts
Performed: July and November 2002
at Portsmouth Arts Centre, Reginald Road, Southsea;

and All Saints Church, Catherington.
Originally performed on BBC Radio 4 in 1988 and toured by Riding Lights Theatre Company in 1993, this play by Murray Watts based on John Bunyan's classic Pilgrim's Progress, sees a 21st century Christian travel from the shopping malls and lock-up garages of the modern-day City of Destruction in his search for spiritual satisfaction.
Among those he meets on the way are updated versions of Bunyan's timeless characters: Mr Worldly-Wiseman, Vain-Confidence and the corrupt traders of Vanity Fair. Will Christian make it all the way from this world to the next?
