It’s the dead of winter and the innkeeper's wife is determined to keep her stable spotless. Then along come Mary, Joseph and some shepherds. Will this hygiene-obsessed woman ever get the chance to scrub her manger properly?

Scrub That Manger! was an hour-long family show for Christmas. The traditional Nativity story was told in a new way that emphasised the humble beginnings of the infant Jesus.

More than 1,000 people came to see this family play during an eight-date tour of south-east Hampshire and the Isle of Wight over Christmas 2003. It returned, due to popular demand, for another tour of Hampshire at Christmas 2004. See performance photos here and read the review here.

The show was staged by Riding Lights Theatre Company in schools, churches and other venues around the country in Christmas 2005 and Christmas 2006.
